Coastal Insurance Risk Retention Group, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “Coastal”) has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy issues.  The following discloses the information gathering and dissemination practices for Coastal.  At Coastal, we are very committed to your privacy, so here is our PRIVACY PROMISE TO YOU: Coastal will never sell, exchange, or release any of your individual personal information to a third party without your express permission.

Information we may collect:  Occasionally, we may conduct online surveys during which, we may ask users for contact information (like email addresses) and demographic information (like zip code or age).  We use contact data to send consumers information about our company.  We understand, though, that you may want to participate in these surveys but may not want us to send you email.  Accordingly, as part of these surveys, we will always give you the option of declining to receive information from Coastal.  If you don’t want to receive mail, just let us know, and we won’t send it.  It is as simple as that.  Like other web sites, your IP number is visible to us when you visit our web site.  What is an IP address, you may ask?  It is a number automatically assigned to your computer whenever you’re connected to the Internet.  Your IP number is visible to most of the websites that you visit.  At Coastal, we only use IP numbers to help diagnose problems with our servers to administer our Web site.  Other sites may use your IP number for marketing purposes.  We do not.  From time to time, we may share with third parties aggregate information such as how many consumers have searched for insurance products such as Medical Professional Liability Insurance or related insurance topics.  Information we provide will not contain any personal identifying information.

Links to other Web sites:  Our website contains many links to other sites.  Coastal is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites.  Coastal does not share any of the individual personal information you provide us with the sites to which Coastal links, although we may share aggregate data with such sites (such as how many people use our site).  This includes other third party sites on the Internet for which we provide search services.  Please check with those sites to determine their privacy policy.

In today’s climate, Coastal Insurance Risk Retention Group, Inc. (“Coastal”) is aware there are individuals or entities that thrive on obtaining personal information when and wherever the opportunity presents itself. We take seriously the responsibility of protecting the information you have provided to us and for that reason we try to maintain the safeguards necessary to protect the information we have stored in our files and data systems. Our Privacy Policy is to protect, to the best of our ability, the information you provide to us. Please review our Privacy Policy as stated below.  This Privacy Policy was made to identify the type of information we collect from you and how Coastal uses that information.

Information We Collect

Personal information will be collected from our customers which results from the course of operating the normal business affairs of the company. The submission of an application for insurance coverage can provide some personal information. As designed, our applications collect such things as name, address, date of birth, E-mail, telephone and fax numbers, social security number, professional license numbers, claims history, disciplinary actions and other pertinent information. Other information we collect is normally obtained from personal interviews, previous work experience, and other forms you submit, licensing and regulatory authorities, and claims history regarding any claims in which you are or were a party. 

Use of Information

It is our policy not to disclose your personal information to any non-affiliated third parties except as permitted by law or by your prior written authorization for release of the information. The information we collect is restricted to employees or third parties who require that information in order to provide you with products and services. The information you provide is not sold or used for promotional purposes to third parties.

Use of Electronic Mail

As you are aware the use of electronic mail (e-mail) may not always be a secure method to request or transmit confidential or personal information. Although Coastal has installed security barriers to its network, you should be aware of the possibility of outside sources penetrating and intercepting any e-mail you send to Coastal.
